Over the last 3 years, the AESSEAL® service provider, Advanced Fluid Technology, has provided such exceptional service to the Calumet Lubricants Company - Shreveport Refinery in Louisiana USA, that the Plant Engineer/Chief Rotating Equipment Engineer, John Swanson, took time out of his busy schedule to provide a reference to another refinery which was over 10,000 miles away in South Africa.
John Swanson confirmed that AFT and AESSEAL® were responsible for savings, in his Refinery, of between $/€70,000 to $/€100,000 (£70,000) in the last 24 months.
He went on to say "Along with the seal cost savings, I have realized savings in rotating equipment parts and service costs. With the help of my AFT field service/sales representative, Dale Gremillion, the pre-Calumet MTBF of 20 months has improved, on rotating pumps, to a current 62 months. There were many operating system and equipment operating factors that have affected this move, but credit is still due to our seal group. AFT/AES has proven to be able to provide admirable on-site service and a strong knowledge base of pumps, seals and systems. The movement of my MTBF has been achieved by seal failure analyses and immediate actions toward correcting identified problems.
