AESSEAL plc is proud to announce that it has been awarded the Stan Crowther Environmental Award, a distinguished recognition presented by the Rotherham District Civic Society.
This accolade celebrates outstanding contributions to the built environment within the Rotherham borough, with a focus on sustainability, heritage, and community impact.
Established in 1992, the Stan Crowther Environmental Award commemorates the legacy of Stan Crowther, a beloved figure affectionately known as Mr Rotherham.
Born in Rotherham in 1925, Stan dedicated his life to public service and environmental advocacy. His roles included:
- Member of Parliament for Rotherham (1976–1992)
- Mayor of Rotherham (1971/72 and 1975/76)
- Local Councillor for 16 years
- Chairman of the Rotherham District Civic Society for over two decades
- Freedom of the Borough recipient in 2009
Stan’s passion for preserving Rotherham’s heritage and natural environment continues to inspire the Civic Society’s mission: to protect the town’s best features and provide a voice for the community on development and environmental issues.
AESSEAL plc joins a prestigious list of past recipients, including:
- The New York Stadium
- Boston Castle
- The Three Cranes
This award recognises AESSEAL’s commitment to sustainable development and its role in enhancing the local environment through innovative and responsible building practices.
We extend our gratitude to the Rotherham District Civic Society for this honour and reaffirm our commitment to sustainability and excellence in everything we do.
