Conservation
AESSEAL® is dedicated to preserving and improving the environment, through reliable sealing technology and conservation work such as our Wetlands and Tree Walk projects.
Opened in 2005 at the AESSEAL® Global Technology Centre in Rotherham, UK, the Wetlands provide a sanctuary for wildlife as well as a sustainable urban drainage system, and have so far proved valuable to kingfishers, herons, frogs, ducks and even newts.
The Tree Walk, opened in 2025, is a 1km interactive trek around woodland, open meadows and a pond, supporting wildlife and serving as an educational resource for schoolchildren. Features include wildlife sculptures, bird boxes, bug hotels, hedgehog houses, herb gardens, brass rubbing plates, and the Tree Walk Explorer Secret Quest and treasure chest.
Charity
AESSEAL Plc has donated more than £2.5million to community groups and projects across the county through funds managed by South Yorkshire’s Community Foundation. The company, one of the largest charitable fund holders managed by SYCF, has given £2,662,061 since February 2010. Beneficiaries in the past year included United 4 Communities, Thurcroft Welfare Brass Band, Doncaster Community Arts, Caribbean Sports Club and Sheffield Council For Community Care.

It is a privilege to be able to give. Traditionally this part of our activity has had a low profile but we understand that staff and customers want to know more about it. This information is provided since part of being a responsible business is the requirement to report.None of the Group International charitable/community giving is included. The most active International Initiative is the South African based, volunteer only, AES Charitable Trust, which concentrates, primarily, on putting fully resourced libraries into under-funded schools, improving literacy outcomes. We also work with the international charity WaterAid, to help transform lives by improving access to safe water, hygiene and sanitation in the world's poorest communities.
