Learning to help in South Africa

curve-down

As a successful business with a strong social conscience, the AES Engineering group, including AESSEAL, supports a number of philanthropic projects in various parts of the world. We focus here on South Africa and the work of the AES Charitable Trust which supports literacy in junior schools.

This project was strongly supported from the beginning by Patsy Waites (pictured), the wife of Rob Waites, former managing director of AESSEAL South Africa, and is organised entirely by volunteers.

The AES Charitable Trust in South Africa operates on the principle that 100% of the charitable proceeds go to good causes with annual giving ranging between ZAR 1.2 million and ZAR 1.5 million.

The aim is to help people take control of their own destinies and enable them to have a better life.

Read this report of what the project is achieving in some of the areas of greatest need, where children would otherwise be faced with empty library shelves and little learning support material.
