AESSEAL plc apprentices Lewis Massie and Harry Long, have been named Apprentice of the Year in the Rotherham Apprentice of the Year awards 2021.

Lewis recieved his award in the Higher/Degree category and Harry won his award in the Advanced category. Both apprentices have been studying Mechanical Engineering through an apprenticeship with AESSEAL plc, Headquatered in Rotherham.

When asked about his award win Lewis Massie said:

Engineering and the apprenticeship scheme are something I have huge respect for, not only do they allow people like me to come from low qualifications and excel to someone now involved in a higher education system. But it also helps people get introduced into such a diverse and interesting industry. I implore anyone interested in being a part of this industry to follow and find their route. I am honoured to have won the Higher Rotherham Apprentice of the Year Award

Harry Long stated:

When I started my apprenticeship, I was older than most of the other apprentices. I had previously completed my A-levels and taken a year out of education to consider what I wanted to do next in my career. The year that I took out allowed me to evaluate what I wanted to do and how I wanted to do it, and resulted in me deciding to do an apprenticeship in engineering with AESSEAL®. Throughout my apprenticeship I really found my passion for engineering and used this drive to excel in my courses at college and exceed everyone’s expectations.

AESSEAL plc has employed 265 apprentices since 2003, of wihich 60% are still working for AESSEAL®. Many of which are now in management and team leader roles, and some have even gone on to experience careers across various Global locations.
