Josie Lewis: IT Manager

"I joined AESSEAL® in 1987 as Data Input Clerk. Two years later I was offered promotion to Accounts Supervisor which gave me responsibility of my own team and the output of the department.

My next promotion took me into our Stores department as Stores Manager. The role included an increase in staff responsibility, stock control, and mechanical seal assembly and to make sure customer orders were despatched on time.

In 1995 I was promoted to the IT and Payroll Manager. My main responsibility is to provide support for our Global ERP Systems and the ongoing development. I also provide support to our IT Director with the day to day running of the IT Department.

During my 30 year career at AESSEAL®  I have been given the opportunity to be the best I can be and to know I have contributed to a successful company. AESSEAL® gave me the opportunity to complete an Open University Course in Management and I’ve had the chance to travel to many of our Global sites and experience different cultures."

I have been given the opportunity to be the best i can be and to know i have contributed to a successful company.

Tom Broadbent: Project Manager

“I have worked for AESSEAL® for 11 years. I joined straight from university after graduating as an Industrial Design Engineer. Whilst many of my fellow students were seeking to join firms such as Dyson, Rolls Royce or BMW I joined a relatively unknown, Yorkshire based business that manufactured products that very few people outside the industry even knew existed. I was attracted to AESSEAL® for a number of reasons most notably, the way they care for the environment, the way they care for their customers and the way they care about doing the right thing.

Like with many engineering businesses that do not operate in the consumer markets it is difficult for people to understand or relate with what AESSEAL® do. School students at careers events, friends, other engineers – nobody quite understands what we do.

When we reached Net Zero in the UK the penny dropped on how to explain in a simple relatable way, what we do that has some meaning to people outside of the industry. Now when people, including my children ask what I do, I simply say.....

We make products that are helping to save the planet!

Josh Perry: US Operations & Compliance Manager

I joined AESSEAL® in 2013 straight from university as a Business Assurance Officer (HSEQ). AESSEAL® nurtured my developing management skills over a 12 month period before I was formally appointed as the UK Business Assurance Manager and the Business supported my personal and professional development further by funding and a NEBOSH Diploma that I completed in my own time. This Diploma is an evidence based qualifications for Health and Safety Managers – which I certainly could not have achieved without the management opportunity that AESSEAL® has given me.

After working within the UK Business Assurance Manager role for 6 Years an opportunity arose to relocate to AESSEAL Inc in the USA and I accepted the role as the Manufacturing and Quality Assurance Manager. I have been here for almost 4 years and along the way I have also taken responsibility for the Health and Safety department in the US and most recently, Operations; assembly, testing, repair and the warehouse.

Tom Lockwood: On Site Application Engineer

I began my career at AESSEAL® Rotherham back in 2005 as a design apprentice. I spent time learning about the business during my apprenticeship by working in different areas along the way.

After 5 years of study and completion of my engineering qualifications I was tasked with managing our bearing protection product range. Leading a team of 8 was difficult at times, but it was a fantastic opportunity and has helped me broaden my skill set outside of engineering.

Throughout my time as head of the bearing protection division I learnt a great deal about our marketplace and how we interact with customers. Which has led onto me moving into my most recent job role change this year as on-site application engineer at a petrochemical plant in North America. In this role I have a very close relationship with our customer and my main task is to increase the MTBF (mean time between failure) for the pumps on the plant by applying our products and best practice. I am enjoying the change and new learning opportunity.

Claire Dickinson: Group Finance Director

Emily Allen: Dispatch Lead

We ship to our different branches and their customers all over the world direct from AESSEAL plc. We are a very fast-paced department. We know how important it is for us to get our customers’ orders to them as quickly as possible. Customers rely on us to avoid any possible downtime.

The role is challenging and also very rewarding,

My most satisfying day was definitely when I passed my apprenticeship. All my work to get my qualification had finally paid off, which was such a relief. As I learn and develop in my current position. I would also like to mentor more apprentices as it is such a rewarding process.
