The 10-acre, low-density site includes a ‘Tree Walk’ for educational and leisure purposes with a wetlands area, and accommodation for bees, hedgehogs, and other wildlife. Recent project spending includes £5.8 million ($7.5 million) of ‘green-only’ investment, such as solar panels, battery storage, and other energy-saving or environmental measures.
A total of 175,000 sq. ft. of new factory buildings has been constructed to the highest environmental standards, and the existing plant is also updated and refurbished as part of the scheme.

908 kWp PV array & energy storage system
In 2024/25 the AESSEAL Mill Close site, has seen an estimated reduction of emissions by 113 Tonnes Co2e. The rooftop of the site is fully covered in two separate PV Arrays, both of which are accompanied by battery energy storage systems. The majority of the roof is covered by a 908 kWp PV array, which feeds nine separate inverters on site for a total of 772 kW of potential AC generation.
91 Tonnes of CO2e saved on heating energy!
From May of 2025, there has been no gas use at the Mill Close site. Over a full 12-month period, this will reduce carbon emissions by approximately 91 Tonnes CO2e. Also during this period insulation has been improved for the building, allowing works to take place for the removal of the aforementioned gas heating system.
